An archive piece from Marithé + François Girbaud, the Paris label founded in 1964 and celebrated for deconstruction, unconventional construction and a sculptural approach to everyday clothes. The "Cravatatakiller" jacket is made in soft 100% wool jersey, patchworked in light grey, charcoal and taupe. Drawstring panels run down the front, so the whole silhouette can be gathered into a ruched shape or loosened into a flatter drape. A wide shawl collar, silver-tone snap fastenings, exposed overlocked seams and a curved asymmetric hem are all part of the design. Spare buttons are included in the original Girbaud envelope.
