A rare and exceptional vintage blazer by Gianni Versace Couture, dating to approximately 1993 to 1997 and most likely the mid to late 1990s, made in Italy. A genuine Gianni-era piece representing the more refined and architectural side of Versace’s couture tailoring in his final and critically acclaimed years at the house.
This blazer reflects the cleaner, more restrained aesthetic Gianni pursued from around 1994 onwards, a deliberate shift from his earlier theatrical maximalism toward precise and elegant suiting. The silhouette is structured and architectural with a clean front, no external pockets and subtle waist suppression tabs front and back that give the jacket an exceptionally sharp and refined line.
The gunmetal resin buttons carry an engraved Versace text around the rim and a Medusa silhouette at the centre, a more understated but equally distinguished hardware choice than the suede Medusa buttons of the earlier pieces. The interior is fully lined in a solid dark navy silk with clean internal pockets throughout.
