Thierry Mugler launched his Paris label in the 1970s and became the master of the sculpted, futuristic silhouette, with strong shoulders, a nipped waist and a dramatic line. This vintage blazer, from the late 1980s to early 1990s, shows that vision in navy worsted wool. A collarless, deep V neckline opens into a curved front with a rounded hem, closing with three fabric-covered buttons. Sculpted piping seams run through the body and shape the waist, with gathered pleats at the hips for the house's hourglass line. Gold-tone winged motifs sit on each side of the waist and on each cuff. Padded, slightly raised shoulders and a full lining. Made in France, with the blue woven Thierry Mugler Paris label.
