Verha Amsterdam Vintage Leather Trench Coat Black 1950s
A rare and characterful long leather trench coat from Verha, the Amsterdam leather house, dating to the 1950s. It is cut in the classic German officer Ledermantel tradition, with heavy leather, a double-breasted front, wide lapels with a stand or lay-down collar, a pointed back yoke, deep side pockets and an external adjustable waist belt. Inside, it retains its full internal storm belt, the adjustable body straps that cinch the coat at the waist to seal out wind and rain, fitted with a BREV patent dome snap and a Stocko marked stud. Having every strap and fastener present and functional is genuinely uncommon on a coat of this age.
The leather is thick and supple with a lived-in patina and natural creasing throughout. The grey body lining shows honest age, and the Verha Lederen Kleding Amsterdam shield label is intact inside.
In good vintage condition for its age, with patina, creasing and light wear to the leather and lining as photographed and reflected in the price so you can judge it for yourself.
